Worst things about Windcrest nobody talks about

Hey, Household incomes average around $95,329 in Windcrest. Crime rate is something to consider -Windcrest sits at 141.1 per 100K. Rent is about $1,411/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 70--F, so the weather is moderate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Should I be concerned? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 14 years. Moved from Nashville for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Far from beaches/mountains. And walkability can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The school system is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been in Riverside for 1 years. Moved from Phoenix for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is decent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Limited entertainment options. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
