Hey folks, We have two kids and It's a a small town city with about 18,847 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much established but now it's hit or miss.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely tough and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Fairview) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is better than expected in most areas.
