Best neighborhoods to rent in Windsor Locks?

Random thought, I'm a 46-year-old sales rep and Crime rate is something to consider -Windsor Locks sits at 61.9 per 100K. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 8.5%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $236,800 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Does this match your experience? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great sushi places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've lived in Uptown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- The housing market scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
