Has anyone dealt with this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 12 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
