Is Winston-Salem getting better or worse?

Been meaning to ask this. Just moved here 11 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,033 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider — Winston-Salem sits at 712.4 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. TIA! The city has invested a lot in new development.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Miami it's tough.
