Cheapest neighborhoods in Winter Park?

Anyone else feel this way? Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,653/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
