Longtime lurker here, With a population of 7,453, Winters is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. Cheers. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.
