Anyone else feel this way? I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 9.3%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this? Thanks for reading. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in consulting. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.
