First post here. With a population of 1,273, Wiscasset is a small town. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Wiscasset sits at 54.1 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Worth the trade-offs? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
