Hello, Homes are going for about $641,800 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Appreciate any input.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The safety is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much reasonable but now it's surprisingly good.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cost of living is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a nurse, 50, moved here 2 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in South and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The job market situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for young professionals. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $90K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to LA it's hit or miss.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Nashville about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
No regrets on my end..
