Living in Woburn -the reality
First post here. I've been here for 18 years and With a population of 41,205, Woburn is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $641,800 on average. Rent is about $2,190/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 5.4%, which is about average. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Easy commute
- Lots of new development
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Rising rent prices
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Not enough green space
What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
