Anyone else love living in Wood River?
OK so I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 11.2%, which is around average. It's a a small town city with about 10,315 people. The median home value here is around $103,200, which is actually reasonable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
Pros:
- Good job market
- Low crime in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not very walkable
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Not enough green space
