Cost of living reality check -Woodbranch

Anyone else feel this way? We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $257,200, which seems about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I overthinking this?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in The Heights area are underrated. Kids love it here.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
