Hey folks, Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $99,718, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Woodbridge sits at 472.0 per 100K. Household incomes average around $99,718 in Woodbridge. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 3 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in consulting. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Midtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
