Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and Rent is about $1,985/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $395,400 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,985 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Has anyone dealt with this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'm a lawyer and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

I work in real estate here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is tough. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
