What I wish I knew before living in Woodburn

Alright, Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thoughts?

Moved here from Austin about 10 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 35, moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in North and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Low crime in most neighborhoods
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The community vibe situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much growing but now it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 10 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
