Is it worth buying in Woodbury?

Hi all, I work in marketing and It's a a small town city with about 2,747 people. With a population of 2,747, Woodbury is a small town. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Has anyone dealt with this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've lived in Midtown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The walkability scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 12 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I work in marketing here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is average. Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2022 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely pretty good and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Uptown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
