Hey, The median home value here is around $505,200, which is pretty steep. It's a a smaller city city with about 61,256 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in East for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The housing market scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
