Woodland Hills in the winter -how bad?

Alright, I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Woodland Hills sits at 85.1 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Old Town area are average. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Atlanta it's pretty good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Greenfield. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Moved here from Phoenix about 14 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to community vibe but Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Midtown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options
- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is solid in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
