Anyone regret moving to Woodland?

First post here. I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Woodland sits at 170.0 per 100K. With a population of 6,513, Woodland is a small town. Homes are going for about $384,100 on average. The unemployment rate is 0.6%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What do you all think? The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Came here for weather and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The public transit is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Fairview area are underrated. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Seattle about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
