Freelancing from Woodlawn CDP (Fairfax County) -experience?

Random thought, I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $1,789/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 15 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
