Hey everyone, I'm a 42-year-old electrician and Household incomes average around $97,263 in Woodridge. It's a a smaller city city with about 33,889 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much competitive but now it's surprisingly good.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The weather scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 11 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I work in education here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is excellent. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much affordable but now it's better than expected.
