Woods Creek job market vs Las Vegas

Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 30s, and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a small town city with about 7,027 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Woods Creek sits at 347.8 per 100K. Household incomes average around $145,773 in Woods Creek. Rent is about $3,000/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Does this match your experience? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for school and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The walkability is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The pet-friendliness is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in finance. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Definitely worth checking out..
