Best kept secrets of Woodstock, GA

Hey, Crime rate is something to consider -Woodstock sits at 116.5 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Minneapolis about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
