Rent in Woodstock getting crazy

Been meaning to ask this. I'm originally from Nashville and It's a a smaller city city with about 36,297 people. With a population of 36,297, Woodstock is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $387,300, which seems about average. Poverty rate is 5.1%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Anyone in a similar situation? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 14 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
