Hey everyone, My family moved here when I was a kid. Average temperature is around 43--F, so bundle up in winter. Poverty rate is 4.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 1,497, Woodville is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Woodville sits at 123.7 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Has anyone dealt with this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Denver it's solid.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 58, moved here 15 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Eastside and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The walkability situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 4 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
