Woodward in the winter -how bad?

I've been here for 5 years and Poverty rate is 13.9%, which is around average. The median home value here is around $164,200, which is actually reasonable. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely excellent and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Midtown) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
