Is Woodway still affordable?

OK so Just moved here 5 months ago and Rent is about $1,748/month for a decent place. With a population of 9,483, Woodway is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? Cheers. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely average and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..
