Been meaning to ask this. Median household income is $58,614, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $58,614 in Woonsocket. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Came here for family and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The dating scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Atlanta about 15 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
