Housing in Woonsocket compared to San Diego

Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Woonsocket sits at 568.2 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 15 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
