Random thought, I'm a teacher here and Homes are going for about $198,400 on average. You can expect to pay around $882 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
