Anyone else feel this way? With a population of 27,012, Wooster is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $198,400, which is actually reasonable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I wrong here? Looking forward to hearing from you all. **What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The job market situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for couples. solid vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
