Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $339,500 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What neighborhoods would you suggest? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I work in legal here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 11 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for weather and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The weather is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is solid in most areas.
