Career opportunities in Worcester, MA

Hello, I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 51°F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 206K, Worcester is a mid-size city. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Is this normal for Worcester? The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much wild but now it's better than expected.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
