World Golf Village vs Raleigh -which is better?

Poverty rate is 4.6%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $109,731 in World Golf Village. Rent is about $1,946/month for a decent place. With a population of 24,485, World Golf Village is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 27, moved here 5 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Oak Park and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The public transit situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for remote workers. decent vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The healthcare is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in legal. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Definitely worth checking out..
