Hello, I'm a 37-year-old police officer and Crime rate is something to consider -Wrightsboro sits at 675.4 per 100K. Household incomes average around $72,867 in Wrightsboro. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 10 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for family and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is challenging in most areas.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a data analyst, 31, moved here 13 years ago from LA. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The school system situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for singles. tough vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely solid and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Westside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
