Military spouse here. Poverty rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Wyndham sits at 260.2 per 100K. With a population of 12,084, Wyndham is a small town. The median home value here is around $673,200, which is pretty steep. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Wyndham? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely tough and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
