What to expect moving to Wytheville?

Hello, With a population of 8,224, Wytheville is a small town. Rent is about $706/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Should I be concerned? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The school system scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.
