Freelancing from Xenia -experience?

First post here. We're a young couple and Household incomes average around $54,616 in Xenia. Median household income is $54,616, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $147,300 on average. Poverty rate is 13.1%, which is around average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thoughts? Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like seafood.

No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Baltimore about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Austin about 4 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The cultural scene is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The cost of living is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from San Diego about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..
