Curious what people think. Homes are going for about $147,300 on average. Poverty rate is 13.1%, which is around average. Household incomes average around $54,616 in Xenia. With a population of 25,555, Xenia is a smaller city. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Has anyone dealt with this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- The weather scene is average
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is improving in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in The Heights. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The dating scene is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Denver about 8 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 11 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
