Moving to Yakima -what should I know?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $273,400 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in construction. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 6 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
