Best restaurants in Yale?

Been meaning to ask this. You can expect to pay around $848 for rent here. The median home value here is around $84,700, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $38,462, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $38,462 in Yale. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks in advance!

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is solid in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Nashville about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Pine Hills area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Highland for 13 years. Moved from Atlanta for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is decent - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Dating scene is rough. Far from beaches/mountains. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 12 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Denver about 10 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is tough.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Highland for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cultural scene scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..
