Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 14,903 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any advice would be great. Cheers. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
