Pros and cons of Yeadon after 11 years

Longtime lurker here, My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $172,500 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 7 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Denver about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..
