Relocating to Yelm, WA -pros and cons?
First post here. Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Yelm sits at 328.5 per 100K. Rent is about $1,363/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $439,100 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to.
