Rent vs buy in Yemassee -what makes sense?

Hey folks, Been living here since 2011. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $736/month for a decent place. Median household income is $36,923, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $169,800 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Baltimore it's pretty good.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The job market scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Hope this helps!.
