Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from Dallas and Median household income is $81,816, which feels pretty solid for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What would you do? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely decent and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Fairview) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
