I'm a 44-year-old restaurant manager and Homes are going for about $1,091,700 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from LA about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is tough.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I work in hospitality here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..
