OK so I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $62,632, which feels about average for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Baltimore about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
