My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -York sits at 882.8 per 100K. With a population of 44,830, York is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for York? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
